Marcus Aurelius Anderson, In His Words:
TEDx Speaker, Keynote Speaker, Author, Mindset Coach and medically retired Army Veteran.
While preparing to deploy with the U.S. Army I suffered a severe spinal injury that left me paralyzed. My world was turned upside down.
After dying on the operating table (twice!) the surgeons saved my life, but told me I’d never walk or use my hands again.
After months of anger, I went into a deep depression. I even thought of taking my own life, but I couldn’t even do that in my physical condition.
Now forced to do some brutally honest soul searching, I was left with two choices; I could either stay angry and play the victim for the rest of my life, or I could change my mentality.
But that was easier said than done.

Having no other option, I started looking for the lesson to be learned from my injury. Once I started seeing my Adversity as a gift instead of a curse, something miraculous began to happen.
I now speak, teach, write and inspire others to actualize their full potential and achieve their goals and aspirations.
My TEDx talk “The Gift of Adversity” speaks of the lessons learned from overcoming death and paralysis and how they can be applied toward bettering ourselves and society.
Scheduled to release in August of 2017, my book “The Gift of Adversity” tells my story while further illustrating the many lessons learned from overcoming my Adversity. These functional and inspiring lessons are applicable to leadership, personal development and entrepreneurship.
My passion is to convey my hard (l)earned knowledge to others and have my Adversity serve as a motivational and cautionary tale.
My goal is to let this wisdom serve as a shortcut to others saving them time and anguish while inspiring and guiding them to their definition of greatness and success.
Adversity is a gift, embrace it.
