  • We can offset our limited will and discipline by building rituals that become automatic as quickly as possible, fueled by our deepest values.
  • The most important role of rituals is to insure effective harmony between energy expenditure and energy renewal.

  • Precision and specificity are critical dimensions of building rituals during the thirty-to-sixty-day implementation period.

  • To make lasting change, we must build serial rituals, focusing on one significant change at a time.

Ritual Performance Practices:

  • Think about the activities in your life that are the most important to you.
  • Determine what state of mind and/or body they demand.
  • Prime yourself for performance by readying your mind and/or body prior to key activities.
  • Test and refine various priming techniques, eventually developing your personalized and customized rituals.
  • Be consistent: Use the same ritual(s) each and every time you engage in the activity to which it is associated with.
  • Remember the  impact of mood on performance; positivity goes a long way!
