What Would Happen If…?
In preparing the material for “21 Days to Creating a Workable Life” one of the topics struck a particular cord with me, that is, to create something different in our life we have to do something different.
Sounds simple right?
Well it’s not just doing something, its’ thinking and feeling and doing something different. You have to become a completely different person to create something completely different in your life.
So I was thinking…what holds most people back from thinking, feeling and doing something different?
Part of it is lack of belief. Another part is commitment…they project they have to do “this” for the rest of their life.
Which got me thinking, you see I’m a very curious person and I love to experiment with my workouts, my diet, and just about everything else in my life. How about if you could approach thinking, feeling and doing as an experiment?
You could ask yourself, “I wonder what would happen if I ____ for the next 7 days?”
Here as some suggestions:
- I wonder what would happen if I smiled at everyone for the next 7 days?
- I wonder what would happen if I eat mindfully for the next 7 days?
- I wonder what would happen if I contemplated 15 minutes per day for the next 7 days?
- I wonder what would happen if I only spoke only kind words for the next 7 days?
- I wonder what would happen if I asked for help for the next 7 days?
- I wonder what would happen if I offered to help someone for the next 7 days
- I wonder what would happen if I turned of TV for the next 7 days?
- I wonder what would happen if I told my partner I much loved them for the next 7 days?
Then you do the thing you’re curious about. Heck you can do anything for 7 days right?
So think of smoothing you never done and thought and felt and do it for the next 7 days and see what happens to your life.
If can think of more “I wonder what would happen if’s?” please share them in the comments below.
