Mental Strength Tip # 6 – Personal Success Through Introspection
This is a continuation of Mental Strength Tips and Coaching to help you kick-off the week. I hope you’ve been enjoying them.
My intention to have a new one each Monday…sort of like “Mental Strength Monday”
Objective of this Mental Strength Tip:
To assist you in developing the habit of self analysis and introspective thinking
Let’s Get Started:
Let me ask you, do you have crystal clear vision of what you want out of life? Yes! Great…then write it out and include as much detail as possible. You see, most people are delusional about the level of mental clarity they have about their goals and ‘wants’ in life. And this simple exercise will show you exactly where you stand in the area.
Questions to Uncover Beliefs about Mental Strength Thinking:
- How did you arrive at your current level of awareness?
- How much higher do you believe there is left to go in terms of you thinking and awareness?
- Who are some of the most aware and conscious people you know and what is it about them that makes you feel this way?
Unsupportive Beliefs about Awareness and Consciousness:
- I’m already at a very high level of awareness and consciousness, I don’t need any more.
- I don’t need to increase my level of awareness and consciousness to achieve my personal success.
- Success, fulfillment and happiness are unrelated to my level of awareness and consciousness.
Mental Strength Beliefs about Awareness and Consciousness:
- The more I learn the more I realize how little I know.
- The more I increase my level of awareness and consciousness the easer it is to achieve my personal success.
- The more aware and conscious I become the more peace, joy and love I experience.
Outrageous Questions:
- If you really do have mental strength awareness why haven’t you achieved you personal success and the results you want?
- What makes you believe you’re so aware and conscious?
- What evidence do you have to support this thought?
- Do your habits, action and behavior reflect your mental strength awareness and consciousness?
Reflective Questions:
- What can you do to raise your level of awareness and consciousness?
- Who are your role models for mental strength thinking about awareness, consciousness and personal development?
- Do you believe it’s good or bad to reach the level of awareness where you come to the realization that the more you know the less you actually know? Why?
Mental Strength Coaching:
Remember that in mental strength coaching my job is to push you to think and question what you believe to be true…and then challenge it. By asking outrageous and contemplative questions you’ll begin to shift your perspective on thoughts, ideas and beliefs that have been holding you back form achieve your personal success.
Final Thought
A coach or individual not familiar with mental strength coaching, many times attempt to motive the client extrinsically, i.e. through the outside approach. The professional mental strength coach knows to work intrinsically, .i.e. form the inside out…as above so below…as on the inside so on the outside. This method takes lots of patience, practice and list of questioning…and the results are worth it!
