Over four years and going strong!  With over 300,000 downloads from over 9 countries and 5 continents’…. this is bitchingthe Warrior Mind Podcast. 4auygbvn

In this episode of the Warrior Mind Podcast I going to address the issue of complaining and bitching.  Bitching just makes everything worse. It never improves the situation.

Exactly what is bitching? It basically blaming, complaining, defending and justifying. Numerous people suffer from playing the victim, and it is often the result of work stress. Unfortunately, a lot of people resort to bitching whenever they are facing life’s challenges. But complaining or blaming others never changes the situation. It is just a waste of your time, and these are 7 reasons why this is true:

Bitching just makes everything worse. It never improves the situation. Everyone has problems that need to be resolved. Complaining and blaming others is not going to resolve a thing. It’s just going to make the environment tense and give everyone involved an attitude. Why make things worse when you don’t have to? Think before you react negatively.

Bitching wastes time, and the real problem takes longer to resolve as a result. Instead of complaining and blaming others, use that time to fix the problem. Not only does complaining put a negative spin on everything, it also makes it harder to be creative and find solutions. A negative person is never open to new ideas. Try to be positive instead so that it brings out the creativity in you. Try to find a solution instead of complaining and making the situation even worse.

Bitching is simple to do. You don’t have to be disciplined for it to work. Everyone knows that it is easier to talk about a problem than to fix it. This is what a lazy person does. As a result, the problem will continue to exist. Learn how to take the high road and refuse to complain and blame others for your problems. Acknowledge that a problem exists and commit to making it go away.

Bitching can turn into a habit. If you do it all of the time, you won’t be able to stop. Unfortunately, the more that you do it, the more comfortable it will feel. It becomes second nature for you to complain and blame others when there is a problem. Life is not always peaches and cream. There will be ups and downs. But this doesn’t mean that you should form bad habits. Don’t let bitching get the best of you.

Bitching is contagious. People want to talk about their problems with others who are experiencing the same thing. You’ve heard the old saying that misery loves company. Well, this is what bitching can do. It seeks out others who are in the same sinking boat. Have you formed relationships like this in the past? Try to find people who have had positive experiences, and not negative ones. Make friendships based upon positivity.

Bitching makes you look bad personally. The more that you do it, the more people are going to see you in a negative light. They will not see you as a positive person who likes to help others. They will see you as a downer instead of one who motivates people. Do everything possible to be a reputable person. Make sure that you have the right attitude and behavior. Don’t stress out about the things that you can’t control.

Bitching damages the brain. Yes, neuroscientists say that it can negatively affect short and long term outcomes. It has this effect for both complainers and those who listen to complainers. Eventually, it makes your brain turn into mush. The brain is programmed to resolve problems and not stress out over them for long durations. Don’t turn your brain to mush. Stop the complaining.

Bitching may do all of the above 7 things, but it will not solve a thing. It will not change things, and it won’t make you feel any better either. But, if you solve your problems the minute that they occur, this will make you feel better in the long run. Why? This is because they eventually go away. Keep in mind that bitching is very toxic. Basically, it is a way to deny what is really happening in your life. It covers up the bad stuff. But take the first step and fix your problems.

Stop complaining and remove bitching from your life right now. You will feel so much better when you do.
