This is one in a series of virtual success coaching and mental strength tips to help kick-start your week. It is intended to enthuse and inspire you to take action so that you can reach your personal goals and personal success.
I take one mental strength tips and run though a brief overview of it, then ask some very direct success coaching questions. The intention of this virtual success coaching session is for you to write and answer these questions in your success journal and then reflect on them to gain insight on yourself, your dreams and what’s holding you back.

Objective of this Mental Strength Tip:
To help you understand that in your journey for personal success there are no failures only feedback and it is with this feedback that you can learn and grow.
Let’s Get Started:
Think of any successful person you know, i.e. Steve Jobs, Matt Damon, Drew Breese, Thomas Edison or any other person that has achieved personal success and you will find circumstance that some might call failure. These individuals did not look at them as failures, only feedback. They then made corrections and continued on their journey for personal success.
Questions to Uncover Beliefs about Mental Strength Thinking:
- How do you define failure?
- What creates more personal success and personal growth; success or failure?
- Do you believe personal growth from perceived failures is the secret to personal success?
Unsupportive Beliefs about Failure and Personal Growth
- Failure is scary
- Failure is embarrassing
- Failure equals pain
Mental Strength Beliefs about Failure and Personal Growth
- There is no failure, only feedback
- Feedback is necessary for personal growth and personal success
- The possibilities of feedback creates excitement and mystery
Outrageous Questions:
- What evidence do you have to show you’re not afraid of feedback (failure)?
- What would happen if you set a personal goal to double your feedback rate?
- In the past, have you activity failed, or failed by default?
Reflective Questions:
- On a scale of 1-9, 9 being most scared, how much does failure scare you?
- If you failed more often how much more personal growth would you experience?
- If you’re not afraid of feedback, why haven’t you taken more risks?
Mental Strength Coaching:
Since the average person has been programmed to fear failure and avoid it at all costs, you will be in conflict claiming you’re afraid to fail when you act as if your terrified to fail.
Through careful self-questioning this fear will be exposed and then you can begin to reframe and reprogram you mind that there is no failure only feedback.
Most people don’t even realize how much fear dictates their lives, and the more you question yourself about this the more aware you will become and the more person growth you will experience.
Final Thought
When you can shift your perspective around fear and embrace the feedback you will automatically remove the intimidation factor. You’ll know the change has begun when you take more risks.
