Your Daily Personal Success Journal
One thing I have found with almost all my clients (and most people) is that they don’t give themselves enough credit for their successes.
I think we are “programmed” to focus on our shortcomings and this does not:
- Help us feel good
- Support us in reaching our personal goals and personal success
- Develop self-empowerment
- Support a positive self-image
If you consider the coaching tool “The Wheel Of Life”, it separates our life into different segments, like pieces of a pie. Now depending on what wheel of life you use these segments are labeled differently. But the essence here is that your life is separated areas that include:
- Career
- Finances/Money
- Health/Well Being
- Friends/Relationships
- Family
- Recreation
- Spiritual
- Personal Development
Sure, some wheels of life tools have more categories and some have less. The point is that when you are in “balance” you are creating a wonderful life, full of power, passion and purpose.
The problem with this is that no one ever talks about what/who is at the center of the wheel.
Do you know what is at the center of the wheel?
You!
Yes, that’s right…you really are the center of your world. You are the dreamer of the dream, the thinker of the thought and the creator of your reality.
When we take a look at what makes up YOU we find four “bodies” and three “selves.” If you as the person are out of balance, your reality (wheel of life) will be out of balance. It’s just like a car. If the alignment is wrong it won’t drive correctly and eventually the tires will wear unevenly.
The four bodies are:
- Physical
- Mental
- Emotional
- Spiritual
The three selves are:
- Ego (consciousness mind)
- Soul (unconsciousness mind)
- Self (higher self/mind)
I’m not going to get into all the aspects of the bodies and self here. I do go over them in detail during The Warriors Quest.
The point here is to understand that when YOU are balanced there is a much better chance that you will produce a balanced life with balanced results.
So the question you’re probably asking is, “This all make sense but how can I do this?”
This is where the Daily Personal Success Journal comes in.
This is a simple tool that I created that will help you focus on your accomplishments (remember the beginning of this post?) and provides a point of attention to your four bodies.
I will provide a link to download the journal at the end of the post. Below are the sections of the Personal Success Journal and how to use them.
My Achievable One Year Outcome: If you’ve worked with me before you’re familiar with this. If you are not, basically this how you want your life to look like at the end of one year. You can make this a couple of sentences that describe and include all the segments in the wheel of life.
My 1st SMARTER Goal I’m Manifesting: In order to get anywhere we need millstones or road-markers to let us know we are heading the right direction. With my clients I suggest a 1, 3, 6 and 9 month SMARTER goal. If you don’t know what a SMARTER goal you can search this site or Google it. Again, what you want here is the first personal goal your going to accomplish that will get you closer to achieving your personal success…your Achievable One Year Outcome.
Gratitude For What I Have: Here you write down what you are thankful for, what you are grateful for. So often we simply go through life wanting more and never being happy with what we have. Let me tell you, until you are grateful for what you have the Universe won’t give you any more. Think of this like a spoiled child, would you really keep giving the child more and more if it’s never happy and grateful for what they have? I don’t think so.
Actions I’m Going To Take Today To Get Me Closer To My Goal: This part is where you commit to yourself what actions are you going to take today to reach your first personal goal (your SMARTER goal). If you don’t start the day without a specific plan you’re no better off then a cork floating on the ocean. Make at least 3, preferably 5 actions steps you’re committed in taking today.
Daily Practices: Now we get into the section where you focus on your four bodies to create personal balance. Under each category are topics/areas to give attention and action to. These are to be done on a DAILY basis. You must focus on these in order to be able to reach your personal goals and achieve personal success.
I know…you’re probably thinking “I don’t have time for all this! How am I supposed to do this and take care of the rest of the things I need to do?” Remember, the rest of the “things” are your wheel of life and if you’re unbalanced so will those results. Think of the car I mentioned in the beginning of this post.
I will tell you, when you put your attention and intention on your four bodies you will magically and easily be able to take care of “the other things.”
Here are the four bodies and specific areas:
- Mental
- Self-talk
- Focus
- Language
- Visualization
- Physical
- Exercise
- Nutrition
- Hydration
- Recreation
- Spiritual
- Meditating/Prayer
- Journey Work
- Active Imagination
- Following Bliss
- Emotional
- Release of “negative” emotions
- Emotional Intelligence
- Forgiveness
- Meaning/Labeling
Acknowledgment of my daily success – what I got accomplished today:
This section is to be completed at the end of day. This is time for you to reflect back on the day and all that you HAVE accomplished. Put down your thoughts and feelings about what you DID accomplish. Stay away from the ‘should’s’, i.e. I should have done more, or I should have done this or that. Simple acknowledge what you DID do. This will create a positive outcome focus that will help enhance a positive self-image, develop self-empowerment and generally make you feel good about yourself and your life.
Reflections: Other thoughts that will help you confirm how great and wonderful you really are.
OK…got it?
Great!
You can download the Personal Success Journal below.
After using for a week please come back to this post and let me know how it’s working for you OK?
