The Power Of One
There’s a Japanese philosophy called “kaizen.” One translation is “constant and never-ending improvement.” Many of us I believe are in agreement that if you’re not growing your dying…there is no “stand-still” in Nature.
Unfortunately many of use try to grow too much too soon, get burned out or frustrated. When this happens we stop growing and start dying.
But what if we just improved by ‘one’?
One is so powerful that races have been won by .001.
At 211 degrees, water is hot. But Add 1 degree and it starts to boil.
And when water boils it becomes steam. Then steam can power a locomotive, a turbine or move a ship.
So many times it is that one extra degree of effort in business and in life that separates the good from the great.
If you think of good being 211º then 212º is great!
This is beauty of 1º. It can take good to great!
It’s not only the simplicity but also the many applications.
You can apply the concept of 212° to service, attitude, eadership, kindness, commitment, focus, perseverance and the list goes on.
Whatever your passion or profession, apply that extra degree and see what happens.
