Tales From Tactical Athletes
I recently attended on of the best conference ever! The Tactical Strength and Conditioning Conference (TSAC) hosted by the NSCA.
The conference covered all the aspects of physical perpetration and readiness for civilian tactical athletes, i.e. Fire, S.W.A.T., Police First Responders, etc as well as military tactical athletes i.e. Army, Marines, Rangers, Special Ops, etc.
Attending of the conference coincides with the launch of the new Warrior Fitness Training (site is 80% finished).
The demands of the tactical athlete are so complex and unique that to create a physical and mental strength and conditioning program really pushes the envelope…but then again, shouldn’t it? After all many of these athletes are pushing their personal envelope each and every day, for day’s on end.
The speakers and hands-on presenters ranged from The Israel Defense Forces to R.A.W (Ranger Athlete Warrior) and from Fight Science David Sandler to periodization guru Greg Haff.
Also included were topics on nutrition, hydration and mental training. It was a privilege to be a part of this conference and group and I’m proud to be helping the tactical athlete with improving both mental and physical strength and conditioning.
As one participant said, “I might not have been able to server my country in uniform, but this is a way to can serve.”
