Mental Strength Leads to Self-Mastery
“One who conquers himself is greater than another who conquers a thousand times a thousand men on the battlefield.” ~ Buddha from The Dhammapada
Jesus: “He who rules his spirit has won a greater victory than the taking of a city.”
Rumi: “The lion who breaks the enemy’s ranks is a minor hero compared to the lion who overcomes himself.”
Leonardo da Vinci: “One can have no smaller or greater mastery than mastery of oneself.”
OK I think we get the picture…self-mastery is important! But how does one achieve this lofty goal?
Self mastery is a ‘byproduct’ of mental strength. When one can master their thoughts, feelings and emotions, you are well on your way to self mastery. When I talk about controlling thoughts feelings and emotions, this is NOT like Spock in Stare Trek, where he is void of emotions.
By mastering your thoughts, feelings and emotions…especially during a critical situation, you begin to take back control of your life.
You respond instead of react.
Mental strength training leads to self mastery, and self mastery leads to peace and abundance.
