Bless Instead of Compare
Roark from Ayn Rand’s The Fountainhead: “I don’t make comparisons. I never think of myself in relation to anyone else. I just refuse to measure myself as part of anything. I’m an utter egotist.”
No space to go into what an “egotist” is. Point is: quit comparing yourself to others…Period!
How?
This will take inner strength. Give this a shot to being with…When you see something or someone that has something you “want”, i.e. car, great body, beautiful house, wonderful family…bless them.
Blessing does not involve comparing. In fact, in accordance with the huna principles, that which you bless you will “attract.”
When come from a place of blessing you are not comparing yourself to anything…get it?
As Emerson says, “Envy is ignorance. Imitation is suicide.”
To envy is to be ignorant of the divinity you are. To imitate is to miss that divinity seeking its unique expression through you. To bless is to see the divinity in everything…including you!
Don’t compare. Unless you follow Faulkner’s advice: “Don’t bother just to be better than your contemporaries or predecessors. Try to be better than yourself.”
